My method for slot head construction... Tuner holes re drilled into the sides of the headstock first. The slots are drilled out and a template is used to route the slot clean. The template is reversed for the second slot. I keep extra material at the top of the headstock to screw the template to and then cut off that portion when I complete the slots.
